Stanisław Gądecki is the Archbishop of Poznań, and the President of the Polish Bishops’ Conference – he is also a great admirer of József Mindszenty, he has even paid a visit to the grave of the late Prince Primate. Stanisław Gądecki is a very outspoken man; he talked with his usual candidness about the impacts of secularisation he experiences nowadays. He stated that “a persistent, intensive and targeted brainwashing campaign may have a profound impact on the Church. This is exactly what we are going through in Poland right now. So, the first and most important thing is courage.” After his ordination in 1973, he continued his studies in Rome and went on to obtain a doctorate. In 2002, John Paul II. appointed him the Metropolitan Archbishop of Poznań. In 2014, he was appointed as one of the members of the Congregation for the Doctrine of the Faith by Pope Francis. In October 2016 he was elected Vice President of the Council of the European Bishops' Conferences (CCEE).
