The leaders of the Hungarian church communities and spiritual movements were invited by the General Secretariat of the International Eucharistic Congress to a meeting and brainstorming. The gathering took place on 13th March in the great hall of the Catholic Pedagogical Institute, where the representatives of fifty communities and movements were present.

A special spiritual journey in Déva... or our Lord Jesus Christ is then only One who leads us to eternal life. Father Bernardin invited Father Dr Fábry Kornél to Déva to talk to us about his work as the chief organiser of the 52. Eucharistic Congress, that will be held in Budapest in 2020 during a special retreat in Déva.

According to the decision of His Holiness, Pope Francis the 52nd International Eucharistic Congress will be held in our country, in Budapest. This is a great honour to us, since this event is a great opportunity for us to confess our faith in Christ and the Eucharist in front of the world; to make testimonies about our joy and Christian hope.

The Mission Cross of the International Eucharistic Congress starts its journey around the country. The Cross was blessed and set on the journey by His Eminence, Péter Cardinal Erdő in the afternoon of the 24th February, in the Basilica of Esztergom. Until the beginning of the International Eucharistic Congress in Budapest in 2020 the Cross will be taken to each and every diocese.

Bishop Richard Umbers will represent the Australian Catholic bishops at the 52nd International Eucharistic Congress to be held in Budapest, Hungary, in September 2020. The announcement was made following the Plenary Meeting of the Australian Catholic Bishops Conference held late last year in North Sydney.

An adoration for men will start in the chapel of the Perpetual Adoration Church, as a preparation for the International Eucharistic Congress of 2020 in Budapest. The idea of the initiative was given by the Congress of 1938, when, during a night's adoration for men, the participants completely filled the Heroes' Square.
