The world has closed up, our hearts have opened up

The International Eucharistic Congress would begin this Sunday, if the coronavirus would not have overwritten the year of 2020. But this year has turned out to be quite different from that of the planned.
In order to alleviate the aching sense of loss, the IEC Secretariat launches a video series. These short videos are preceded by Cardinal Péter Erdő’s heart-felt introduction. From the five continents of the globe, eleven invited guest speakers of the Congress speak about their thoughts, and encourage our souls in these hard and demanding times.
The online pre-meeting audience is greeted by Cardinal Péter Erdő, Primate of Hungary. The Cardinal underlined the importance of the prayer by which we could reflect together on the huge experience and shock that the pandemic brought into our lives.
