S.E.R. Jérôme Beau

Archbishop of Bourges
View related events

He started out as a student of medicine; later however, he chose priesthood instead. For a while he held the title of Auxiliary Bishop of Paris, where, among others, he served in the Notre-Dame Cathedral too. Furthermore, he worked as the Chaplain of the Eucharistic Youth Movement. He also served as rector of the Paris Seminary. In 2018, He was appointed Archbishop of Bourges by Pope Francis. Apart from his academic work, he has done a lot to restore the credibility of the French Church, i.e. he joined efforts with the panel which started a discussion with the ‘silenced’ children of priests.
