May the Lord be with us!

“The risen Jesus Christ is alive and is not merely a figure. He is not a memory from the past, but rather a living person” – said in his Easter message Stanisław Gądecki, Archbishop of Poznan, the guest speaker of the September IEC in Budapest.

The President of the Polish Bishops’ Conference emphasized that Christ should be treated as a human being and not just a simple historical figure. “Sad to say, but for most of the Christians, Christ is still the one about whom they may know a lot, but do not live in a personal relationship with. Indeed, the risen Jesus is alive and is far from being merely a figure only. He is not at all a memory from the past, but rather a living person even now.” – added the Archbishop.

“As long as we do not set up a real relationship with Christ, he remains an outsider. He is not going to touch our mind, nor will warm our hearts. However, should we establish a close personal relationship with Him, our life is going to be transformed, since our life is split into the time before and after the meeting with the living Christ.” – continued Gądecki.

At the same time the Archbishop admitted that the current pandemic situation has put the faithful into an extremely difficult situation. “Only a few are able to attend in person in the Holy Communion, while it is the eternal life that depends on the consumption of the Eucharistic gifts” he said.

“All those, who are connected with the Church spiritually only through the online media broadcasts, must be perfectly aware of what they are missing. Therefore, we should let ourselves be accompanied by the presence of the risen Lord. Moreover, we should let Him go with us, and open our eyes for the eternal love.” – added the Archbishop.
