Watch the Locations of the International Eucharistic Congress of Budapest in 2020

On the ides of May the members of the Pontifical Committee for International Eucharistic Congresses and the national emissaries from more than seventy countries visited the main locations of the world-event of 2020: Stadium Ferenc Puskás, the Hungexpo (which will be the location of the IEC lectures) Heroes’ Square, Andrássy Boulevard, St. Stephen’s Basilica, Kossuth Square and the city of Esztergom.

The 52nd International Eucharistic Congress will be held between 13-20 September 2020, and the opening mass will be celebrated in Stadium Ferenc Puskás. The main site for the Congress will be Hungexpo. The closing mass – just like in 1938 – will be held on Heroes’ Square.

Archbishop Piero Marini, the president of the Pontifical Committee for International Eucharistic Congresses said that he was astonished by Budapest, there is a baffling range of selection regarding the locations and that they were welcomed in a “very brotherly atmosphere”.
