S.E.R. Ivan Šaško

Ivan Sǎško was born in Đivan, Croatia. As the third-born of the family, he was baptized when only ten-days-old, in one of the most ancient towns of the countryside, Lovrečka, in the church of the parish which was built in honour of St. Lawrence. In 1981, he applied to the minor seminary of the Archdiocese of Zagreb, then continued his studies at the seminar’s faculty of theology and later in Rome. He obtained his doctorate in 1997. He was ordained a priest in 1992. Currently, he teaches theology at the Faculty of Theology of the University of Zagreb. After the adoption of the decision on the Establishment of the Catholic University of Croatia in Zagreb, he was appointed as the Head of the Commission of the Croatian Catholic University. He is a member of the Episcopal Commission for Liturgy within the Episcopal Conference of Croatia, the Presbyter Council as well as the Advisory Body of the Archdiocese of Zagreb. He is the author of a number of theological articles and books.
